Kmart Distribution Centre
Located at the Ruakura Superhub on Aka Matua Lane, the Kmart Distribution Centre comprises of a large 40,000m2 warehouse space, a main office, receiving office, dispatch office, gatehouse and bike shed. The project was designed and constructed to achieve a 4 Star Green Star As Built rating under the Green Star Design & As Built NZ v1.0.
The site has one main electrical switch-room located in a dedicated room with the two main switchboards, MSB-1 & MSB-2. These two MSB’s are fed off two 1500kVA transformers which are housed in individual rooms next to the main switchboard room. The 1500kVA transformers allow the site to have approximately 6000 amps for the site power.

From the two MSB’s the power is distributed around the site to local distribution boards. There are 28 distribution boards on this site which service the lighting and power circuits throughout the warehouse, main office, receiving office, dispatch office, gatehouse and bike shed. All distribution boards are manufactured from NHP modular metalwork with Schneider distribution componentry.

Lighting Control
Kmart Distribution Centre has a Philips Dynalite lighting control system installed throughout the entire complex of the building from all the offices right through to the warehouse. The Philips Dynalite lighting control platform offers the best of breed lighting control with over 35 years of reliable service in over 35,000 projects around the world. Kmart Distribution Centre is provided with state-of-the-art emergency lighting, the Dali monitored lighting system, which is linked to the Dynalite. The Dynalite system does the testing and reporting on the emergency lighting system.
Energy Monitoring System
The power monitoring system complies with the requirements of Green Star Design & As Built NZ v1.0. The web-based reports application allows you to select, configure, generate and manage comprehensive reports based on historical data contained within your databases. The reports are designed for energy/water consumption and usage, power quality compliance and analysis, and generic system usage. The reports can be generated on a defined schedule and when system events or device alarms occur. They are then distributed via email, or sent to a file share or printer.
